Carclo’s contribution to the CAT development has been directed towards the development of a single use, low cost device which includes an integrated reader and write-once, non-volatile display. The result is a proof-of-concept device which features

• A simple drive mechanism which controls the test, accurately meters the sample and should provide a route to CLIA-waived status.
• A completely sealed, disposable chip with precisely moulded microfluidic channels and hydrophilic surface treatment, loaded with reagents.
• A low cost sensor/reader and integrated display.
